Day 1: Warm Welcome at the RITM (January 27, 2009)

eblogo-button

The Dermatology Section of the RITM is housed in a one-storey building abutting the dormitory.

I was expecting the usual reception at out-patient sections of the usual hospitals.  Much to everybody’s surprise, the reception was super.  Joy’s arrival was anticipated by the very hospitable doctors there.  In fact, the doctors at the Dermatology Section has even prepared food for the family.  Joy’s family and their patron, Danny Majaba, were simply speechless. They have never seen such a warm welcome in their whole lives.

Amazing!!!!!

Joy’s family were also very thankful to DPPers Francis Fuentes, Jun Rapanan, and Doc Orly Endaya for coming to the event. Doc Orly trained at the RITM. Thanks to Francis for his food donation to Joy’s family.

The Group Hug (Jun and Francis followed later)

Joy was shy at first.  She is not used to getting attention, especially the doting attention and care from a phalanx of doctors.

Shy

As directed by the doctors photos of Joy’s skin condition were taken.
